The painter Roberto Viani, his wife Paola and his son Cesare truly welcome you. They place their splendid Locanda at disposal of all those that love Tuscany and would like to discover those places and traditions that only a friend on the spot may know. The Locanda Viani is situated at 500 m from the historical centre of San Gimignano. It is an ancient sighting tower built for the protection of the town (free commune since 1199) between the 10th and the 11th Century A.D. on the top of a hill. The extraordinary dominating position (279 m a.s.l.) and the vicinity to San Gimignano (332 m a.s.l.) enabled an easy and fast communication with the highest tower of the town (the "Torre Grossa" - the big tower).

The Locanda Viani has 4 very comfortable bedrooms. The kitchen looks like an old grocery where every day revive fragrances and savours of past times. The hall is a small art-gallery where some works of Roberto Viani are exposed.
The entrance has been furnished with pieces of furniture and glass cupboards which are examples of the best Tuscan handicraft. A beautiful terrace surrounded by a garden from which you can enjoy the view on San Gimignano. A small road leads to the city centre which is just at 500 m .

Food & beverage

The kitchen looks like an old grocery where every day revive fragrances and savours of past times. " Dinner may be the most exciting moment: to have on your table those flavours which during the day you could just immagine or smelling it in the air ." The dining-room is a small art-gallery where some works of Roberto Viani are exposed. "We think that hospitality means to place at your disposal our knowledge of the area so that a holiday may become a real experience."
